Have you ever gotten up in the morning feeling bored like you don’t want to do the same oldthings,但是你想不出anything better to do?
Your normal routine can start to get old, and it may leave you feeling unmotivated at times to do anything. You find yourself sitting in front of the television or staring at cat videos on Facebook.

You crave something new or out-of-the-box that will redirect you from your normal routine and give your restless mind something unique to focus on.
This happens to me on cold, rainy days when I am feeling a bit tired and cooped up, or on long summer days when it’s 95 degrees outside.
When you’re stuck in this feeling of mental malaise, it seems like your creativity and imagination have flatlined, and you just can’t think of anything that lights your fire.
That’s why it’s great to be prepared with a list of ideas to inspire you and push you out of the doldrums so you can fully enjoy your day.

1. Go to the library.
Whether or not you’re an avid reader, if you walk through the aisles of a library, you are destined to find something that will catch your eye. Grab a book that looks interesting to you. Or…
2. Read something you wouldn’t normally read.
While you’re at the library, pick up something that is a bit out of your comfort zone. Were you dozing off during that history lesson in high school?
Brush up on your history. It may be interesting to you now that you have passed adolescence.
3. Go for a walk.
Walk around your neighborhood and see who you run into. You may meet a new neighbor who you have never met before. Or…
4. Try out a new neighborhood.
Drive to a neighborhood that you would love to live in one day and take a stroll. Look at all of the houses and daydream about which you would choose if you had the option to pick your favorite house.
5. Call a friend.
People often lack personal contact with their loved ones these days. Pick up the phone and actuallycall one of your friends(rather than text) to see what is new in their lives.
6. Call a distant family member.
Do you have a few people who you only see or talk to on Christmas or birthdays?
Give them a call out of the blue. It will probably make their day to know that you are thinking of them.
7. Start Christmas shopping.
Speaking of Christmas, do you often find yourself stressed out during the weeks before Christmas when you are trying to find theperfect gifts for everyone?
Get a head start and do some research or go shopping for some of the people you know will be on your list.
8. Watch your favorite movie.
Everyone has their “go-to” movie that will never get old.
9. Watch something you have never seen before.
What about those classic movies that people always talk about that you have never had the chance to watch?
Consider taking some time to catch up on some classics orAcademy Award winners.
10. Play around with your look.
You don’t have to spend money at a salon to change up your look.
Try some different hairstyles that you have seen lately, and discover how easy (or hard) they are to do yourself.
11. Makeup can be fun too.
While you’re in front of the mirror playing around with your hair, start experimenting with some makeup. Have you wanted to perfect contouring like people you see on television? Give it a shot!
12. Get a coloring book.
You probably don’t think of coloring books when thinking of something to do as an adult. However,adult coloring booksare really popular now and are often used as a stress reliever.
13. Try Sudoku.
If you want to engage your brain a bit, grab a Sudoku book and test out your skills. While you’re at it…
14. Do a crossword puzzle.
Look for a crossword puzzle that could be fun and engage your brain. It doesn’t have to be an extremely difficult one that will keep you lost for hours. Just start with an easy or intermediate one.
15. Purge your kitchen.
Look in your refrigerator, freezer, and pantry and get rid of anything that has expired. You can also toss the rest of that one-time ingredient that you haven’t used in years but will never expire (powdered milk, anyone?).
16. Get creative in the kitchen.
After you have gone through everything in your kitchen, and you’re familiar with what you have left, challenge yourself to create something with only the items you have on hand. You can pretend like you are on one of those cooking shows.
17. Clean and declutter your kitchen.
How long has it been since you really got in those cabinets or underneath the sink?
How many extra plastic containers do you really need?
18. Write a letter.
Letters seem so outdated these days, but everyone loves to receive physical mail. Write a letter to a good friend or family member to help make their day.
19. Plan your dream vacation.
Sure, it may not be in the budget, but research some places around the world that are on yourbucket listto visit and find places that you could stay and activities you could do.
20. Visit a thrift store.
Thrift store shopping can be really fun! It is like going on a hunt for treasure. Look through clothes,books, kitchen appliances, and anything else that looks interesting to you.
21. Paint a room.
Do you want to upgrade your house a bit without spending too much money? Pick a room and a new great color and paint it!
22. Listen to music.
Try out a new genre that you don’t usually listen to.

Some of the new music you discover may make you want to get up and dance.
If not, then put on something that you know you love to dance to and enjoy yourself.

31. Teach yourself how to cross-stitch.
Cross-stitching is a great time-killer, and it is also a good way to release some stress. Get online or grab a book with some instructions and get started.
32. Write down your goals.
While New Year’s Eve is long gone, it is never a bad time to create somepersonal goalsfor yourself. Think about everything you want to get accomplished in the near future and create a concrete plan.

The flavor options are endless and nothing tastes better than the real thing.
40. Rearrange a room.
Pick a room in your house and rearrange the furniture. It is always nice to refresh your house in certain ways so it doesn’t begin to seem so mundane. Move some couches andchairsto see if you can figure out a new way to live.
41. Plant a garden.
Flowers make everyone happy when they pop up, and they add a lot of color to your yard. Plant some flowers that you will be able to pick in the spring and put in your house to add some fresh decoration.
42. Plant some vegetables.
Additionally, get a vegetable garden started so you can eat fresh produce right from your yard. This is the healthiest way to eat, and it ends up saving a lot of money on groceries. You can’t get food any more local than your own yard!

If you haven’t worn it in two or three years, either trash it or donate it. You will feel a huge sense of relief with a clean closet.

You never know if there is someone who wants to treat you to something nice but has no idea what to get you.

Look at the resumes of people who have yourdream career. What did they have to do to get there? What are some of the special things that have accomplished that not many other people have?
51. Paint something.
Do you have a boring clay pot in your yard or a blank canvas? Get creative and do some painting. You can even jump on the bandwagon and paint some rocks and put them around your city for other people to find.
52. Find an online group.
Is there something unique about you that your friends can’t exactly relate to? Maybe you have a really rare hobby or are suffering from a chronic illness and don’t have the support you need. Find an online community that has this is common with you and make some connections.

There are a lot of companies these days who hire people to work independently to sell their products. If you want to make a little extra money, consider getting on board with one of these companies.
54. Volunteer.
Volunteering is a great way to meet new people and give back to your community. Find the local animal shelter or food bank and see what kind of help they could use.

Do you know anyone who is moving or taking on a big project? Offer your help to lighten their load.

One way to get creative is to write. Start writing a short story and see where it takes you.

Alternatively, start a journal to record your thoughts. This may be a gratitude journal where you make notes of everything that you are grateful for in your life, or just an everyday journal to record your state of mind.
